As heavy rains continued to lash the coastal area disrupting regular life, the deputy commissioners of Dakshina Kannada (DK) and Udupi districts have declared holidays for all academic establishments on Friday.

DK deputy commissioner Okay V Rajendra and Udupi DC M Kurma Rao stated the vacation has been declared in view of the prediction of meteorological division that the area will witness heavy rains on Friday additionally.





The Met division has issued an orange alert within the districts on Friday and yellow alert until July 4. Incessant rains have resulted in synthetic flooding in lots of areas in Dakshina Kannada district.

In the meantime, an individual using a scooter was injured after an electrical energy pole and a tree department fell on his automobile at Bantwal within the district on Thursday.
